Casino Poker Guide 2026
Casino poker pits you against the dealer rather than other players. From Caribbean Stud and Three Card Poker to Texas Hold'em Bonus, these games combine poker hand rankings with simple play-or-fold decisions. This guide covers every major casino poker variant, hand rankings, strategy, and house edge comparisons.
Poker Hand Rankings
All casino poker games use the standard five-card poker hand rankings. Memorize these before playing — they're universal across every variant.

Casino Poker Variants
Caribbean Stud Poker
Each player places an ante and receives five cards face down. The dealer also gets five cards with one exposed. Players decide to fold (lose the ante) or raise (2× the ante). The dealer needs Ace-King or better to qualify. If the dealer doesn't qualify, the ante pays even money and the raise pushes. If the dealer qualifies and your hand wins, payouts range from 1:1 for a pair up to 100:1 for a royal flush.
Three Card Poker
The simplest casino poker game. Place an ante, receive three cards, and decide to play (match the ante) or fold. The dealer needs Queen-high or better to qualify. The Pairs Plus side bet pays based on your hand strength regardless of the dealer's hand — from 1:1 for a pair up to 40:1 for a straight flush.
Texas Hold'em Bonus
Based on Texas Hold'em rules but played against the dealer. Place an ante, receive two hole cards, then bet or check on the flop, turn, and river. Community cards are dealt progressively. The best five-card hand from your two cards and five community cards determines the winner. Bonus payouts for strong hands regardless of outcome.
Casino Hold'em
Similar to Texas Hold'em Bonus with slight rule differences. Both player and dealer receive two hole cards. The flop is dealt immediately. Players call (2× ante) or fold. The turn and river are then dealt. The dealer needs a pair of fours or better to qualify. A strong AA+ side bet is popular.
Casino Poker Strategy Tips
Learn the optimal play/fold strategy for each variant — it's simpler than you think and significantly reduces the house edge.
The dealer qualification rule is your friend. When the dealer doesn't qualify, your ante still pays. This softens the blow of borderline hands.
Side bets add excitement but cost more. The Pairs Plus bet in Three Card Poker (2.32% edge) is one of the more reasonable side bets.
Progressive jackpot side bets are worth considering only when the jackpot is exceptionally large — the break-even point varies by game.
Start with Three Card Poker if you're new to casino poker. The strategy is one sentence: play Q-6-4 or better.
Bankroll management matters. Casino poker has larger swings than blackjack, so budget 30-50 ante bets per session.
